About us

Our legacy is a large archive: more than 120.000 records, 40.000 photos , 4.000 hours of video and hundreds of books.

As a result of many years of research, our historians have collected a database, which is exceed the archives of the International Olympic Committee and sports scientific centers in Barcelona, Los Angeles and Cologne in its informative content data about the athletes – participants of the Games in the 1896 – 2018 timeframe.

We maintain our database up-to-date, being in working communication with the IOC Olympic Studies Center (IOSC) and a number of members of the International Society of the Olympic Historians (ISOH), using only official documents for our work (Olympic games official reports, media guides from more than 160 NOCs and many other documents).

Our publications are available in all the greatest sports libraries and National Olympic Committees around the world. Our wealth are specialists with experience of work in international sports centers in  Lausanne, Cologne, Barcelona and many other cities linked with the Olympic movement.

 

Our historians have been collecting information about sports since 1965. We cooperate with International Olympic Committee, National Olympic Committees, Organizing Committees for the Olympic Games, international sports federations as well as state archives and Olympic historians from different countries!

Recognetion

In September 2016, Gennady G. Marichev was awarded the highest award among Olympic Historians - ISOH Vikelas Plaque for outstanding studies of the Olympic movement and the history of the Olympic Games.

In the history, this award had been awarded only for 28 persons.

Nowadays – in process cooperative project of G.Marichev and the Latvian Olympic Committee, with the personal support of the Latvian Olympic Committee President Aldons Vrubleskis.   • 1 - 2nd volume was presented on 16.11.2016 within the 21st General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) in Doha to the IOC President Thomas Bach and the President of the ANOC H.E. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah.
  • 3rd volume - was presented to IOC President Thomas Bach, April 6, 2017, in the IOC, by the President of Latvian Olympic Committee Aldons Vrublevskis. At the moment, is included the opening speech of the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach.
  • 4th volume - was presented to IOC President Thomas Bach, October 9, 2017, in Vilnius, by the the Latvian Olympic Committee President Aldons Vrublevskis. This volume includes the opening speech of the International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach and the honorary president of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge.
  • The 5th volume - was published on April 2018.
  • The 6th volume - was published on Novembre 2018.
  • The publishing program of the project from 7th to 12th volume - until 2021.

As the newest condition for formatting and preservation of History of Olympic Movement. 

The Internet system for wide range of users, consisting of:

Constantly refreshing historical and actual parts with the data of ALL Olympic athletes in the 1896-2018 timeframe, results of the Olympic Games, personalities – officials of sports organizations and much more.

The analytical part for research and scientific activities with all sorts of selections based on system data.

The discussion part for professional polemics considering actual problems of Olympic Movement.

 

The system, as a whole, facilitates the development of interaction between all sports organizations and society and creates a powerful media tool for popularization of Olympic movement in the World during all Olympic cycle.

In April 2016 the project was presented to the ANOC Modernization Follow up commission. In November 2016 the project was presented to the ANOC President H.E. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad AL-Sabah at 45th EOC General Assembly in Minsk. In November 2017 the project was presented to the European Olympic Committees General Secretary – Mr. Raffaele Pagnozzi at 22nd ANOC General Assembly in Prague.
